Hop on the Mickelson Trail trailhead in Hill City’s Tracy Park and enjoy some time outdoors on this scenic 109-mile groomed trail. The gentle slope, tunnels, and scenic views create the perfect setting to wind your way through the Black Hills at your own pace away from it all!
Make it a lake day
A short drive to one of the lakes outside of Hill City is a perfect way to experience the Black Hills. Fishing, boating, paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming, or relaxing on the beach will get you outside and away from things for a while. Sheridan Lake, Horsethief Lake, Deerfield Lake, Pactola Lake are all less than 30 minutes from Hill City and relaxation-ready.
